Hello, my name is Tom Martin. I am originally from the western New York area, but I grew up in rural western Pennsylvania. After college I worked in dental research at the University at Buffalo’s School of Dental Medicine, studying periodontal disease and osteoporosis. While working in the dental school, I had the opportunity to work alongside other dentists doing both clinical and research dentistry. I found that working with people rather than test tubes was more exciting to me, so I applied to dental school. I was fortunate enough to attend the reputable UB School of Dental Medicine. Following graduation in 2007, I completed a residency program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After completing residency training I returned home to Buffalo to practice.
Aside from helping people fix their smiles, I enjoy relaxing with friends and family, cooking, mountain biking and my dog Merle. I enjoy general dentistry, because no two days are the same. Recently, I have begun placing dental implants, which is very exciting, because as dentists we now possess the ability to replace a missing tooth or help make a person’s denture stay in place.
